Gray’s Inn Tax Chambers operates an assessed mini-pupillage scheme, which we hope is both enjoyable and informative for those considering a career at the Tax Bar.
Our aim is to offer at least 4 assessed mini-pupillages of a week’s duration in the summer, although assessed and non-assessed mini-pupillages can exceptionally be arranged at different times of the year.
Candidates are selected on the basis of proven academic ability and personal qualities. Candidates should show an interest in tax, or at least general Chancery or commercial work. Prior knowledge of tax law is not necessary, and we encourage applications from those who have no previous knowledge of tax law but would like some experience of the kind of work we do at the Tax Bar. However, particular preference is given to those who are currently undertaking a course in tax law, and who are considering practising at the Bar.
We normally require applicants to have studied law for at least two years or to have completed their CPE/PgDL.
Applications should be addressed to Michael Jones at Gray’s Inn Tax Chambers. A CV is required together with a short covering letter, preferably handwritten, which should state the applicant’s reasons for wanting to undertake mini-pupillage in these chambers and their available dates. Please note that we cannot accept applications sent by e-mail. The deadline for receipt of applications is 31 May 2010.
